Finding a recipe
The food blog’s homepage will always showcase the most recent recipes as well as various seasonal highlights.
So please consider bookmarking it in your browser to easily check for new recipes in the future.
To browse recipes by categories, ingredients or meal, tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner like so:
And then choose how you would like to find the recipe: by categories, ingredients or meal type:
Alternatively, tap the search magnifying glass at the top right corner and search for any recipe by typing the dish that you are interested in. Search results will start appearing as you start typing. If you don’t see what you are looking for exactly, hit “Enter” to see more results.
Did you know that I have a YouTube channel? I upload new recipe videos there weekly. It is easy to subscribe to it and you’ll get notifications whenever a new video is up – just tap the Subscribe button and Bell button when on YouTube. Please note that the Bell button will only appear after you have tapped the Subscribe button. Tapping the Bell button will ensure that you will get all notifications from my YouTube channel.
Browsing recipes
All of my recipes have the same structure to make your browsing experience easy and convenient.
The layout may change from time to time, as I constantly work on improving your browsing experience, but the logic stays the same.
Let’s take the delicious Cherry Pavlova recipe as an example.
When you open this recipe on your mobile, you will notice the following sequence of easy-to-use blocks:
- Header
- Name, snapshot and short description
- Final result images
- Ingredients
- Nutrition
- About the recipe
- Recipe video
- Game
- Recipe steps
- Other recipes to try
- Comments & reviews
- Footer
Let’s quickly look at each one.
Header
The header will always include the burger menu, the logo (tap it to go back to the home page) and the search button. I’ve already mentioned those.
Recipe name, snapshot and short description
Right below the header you will see the name of the recipe on top of a recipe image, a quick snapshot of the recipe and a short description. The snapshot includes:
- Share button – tap it to share the recipe with your family and friends.
- Total time note – it shows how much total time you will need to make the recipe, where “h” stands for hours and “min” for minutes. The total time includes preparation time, cooking time and any other amount of time that you need to make the recipe from start to finish.
- Difficulty – it shows how hard the recipe is and is there for reference purposes only. If the recipe is “difficult” and you are a beginner, it does not mean that you can’t make it. It just tells you that you will need a bit more focus and time to get the right result. But you will definitely make it happen!
- Serves mote – it shows the amount of people this recipe can serve.
- Ingredients link – tap it to jump directly to the recipe ingredients.
- Steps link – tap it to jump directly to the recipe steps.
- Video link – tap it to jump directly to the recipe video, if available.
- Comment link – tap it to go to the comments/reviews section, where you can leave a comment or tap the review stars. I will appreciate if you can tap 5 stars as it will help the recipe to do better in Google search results and have more people find it.
Final result images
As you start scrolling, you will move from one block to another.
The next block will show you how the finished dish looks like, so you can see what you can achieve with this recipe. Swipe left-right through small thumbnails to reveal more images, if available.
Tapping the small thumbnail will open it as the main image. Tapping the main image will open as part of a slideshow.
Ingredients
Next block is a list of the ingredients that you need to make the recipe. You can check/uncheck each ingredient as you go through the list or you can change the amount of people you want this recipe to serve.
If the ingredient has a small “i” icon next to it, you can tap the icon to read more information. For example, all metric measurements are placed there.
Also, tapping any of the underlined ingredients will open all recipes that I made with that ingredient. For example, if you like cooking with icing sugar, tap it to see the recipes using using sugar as one of their ingredients.
Nutrition
By default, the nutrition info is hidden. To see it, tap the “+” icon in the top right corner of the nutrition block to expand the nutritional information.
Please note that I am not a nutritionist. The nutrition information is provided for reference only and is approximate. It is calculated using one of the online calculators, like this one.
About the recipe
Most of the descriptive stuff comes here. This block starts with a “Popular Q&As” section. Scroll through to read all answers.
Alternatively, tap any of the questions to jump to a specific answer.
This block ends with some related recipes that I recommend trying, too.
Recipe Video
Next comes the recipe video block. If the recipe has it (it can be a long video on YouTube, a YouTube Short or both), you can always find it there.
If you happen to click through to YouTube, please don’t forget to come back to the original recipe page. YouTube related videos are a great source of distraction. Please also consider subscribing to my YouTube channel – I post new recipe videos and ideas that are not yet on the blog every week.
Recipe Game
In the screenshot above you will also see a block called “Game”. It is a fun little game that you can play while there.
It is related to the recipe and only requires a few minutes of your time to win it. It’s fun! 🙂
Recipe Steps
The Steps block includes recipe instructions, images and timings.
As you move through the recipe, tap the number of the step to fade it out, so you know it has already been done.
Other recipes to try
The section right after the recipe includes the recipes you may want to try next. Check them out.
Comments & reviews
Last block before the footer is intended for your feedback.
If you’ve tried the recipe, please let me know if you made any modifications?
If you’ve enjoyed it, please hit the 5 stars in the comment form.
You may either leave a comment without rating, or hit 5 stars without commenting, or both – it is totally up to you, but I will really appreciate your engagement. ❤️
Footer
Last comes the footer. It has some quick links that you can use to continue browsing.
Alternatively, if you want to go back to the top menu quickly, just tap the “TOP” button, and you will get to the top in no time.
At the very bottom, as well as the top BTW, are my social media links – tap them to connect with me on social media. Here are those for your convenience:
And if you have some feedback about the recipe, please leave it in the Comments section of that recipe.
I hope that you will enjoy cooking at home as much as I do and will come back for new recipes each week.
Please bookmark this website to find it next time quick-and-easy. Enjoy!
